I am somewhat new to Findagrave.com, but I hope to give back some of the invaluable assistance I have received in my genealogical quest. By organizing and cataloging my ancestral line and documenting the milestones in the lives of my grandparents and bringing to light, those events lost to time. I was prompted to begin a family tree when I discovered how difficult it was to explain relationships to my son when he was of a young age. It was complicated by the fact that my father was adopted, as was his mother. With each new discovery I was motivated to find out more and more information. Nothing could have spurred me more than the time my research lead me to reunite my father with his biological sisters who were separated as toddlers more than fifty years earlier. My mother's family is rich with history. Their roots so deep in American history. Fighting Indians as Colonists, as revolutionaries and loyalists, as Indian traders and neighbors to George Washington, serving in the War of 1812 and fighting the Union in the American Civil War. Each line seeming to stretch back further than the one before, and around each corner another fascinating story. This started as a project that would seem to have a final result. I have since learned that this is an endless quest. A constant work of editing and refinement, expanding with each new discovery. I love it!
