My name is Sharol (Heintzelman) Molland and I was born in Coquille, Oregon the day Pearl Harbor was bombed. My father and stepfather were both in the Army during WWII. I would like to find out if there is a possible genealogy link to General Samuel Peter Heintzelman, who fought in the Civil War.

My interest in genealogy began about three years ago and somehow I ended up doing "Find a Grave" about a year or so ago. I am happy to help find relatives, if they are buried near to me. My husband has been ill so I don't travel too far away.

My brother and I would like to locate relatives buried in the midwest. We have discovered that we have our roots for the Heintzelman and Shere families in northern Illinois (Tampico and Joliet), and the Monica family in Michigan (Newberry area) and Wisconsin (Egg Harbor). We have found some information about the Page family in the Nebraska and Oklahoma area, however, we are unsure of where they originated from. Some of our family members ended up in Oregon, where we were born.

Since I've gotten older, I have found a walk in a cemetery to be rather comforting and peaceful. For every stone you see, there is a story of a life and experiences. I find a special empathy and interest in those that fought in wars and children lost too soon.
