Because of possible use of my biographical information by spammer/scammers, I am limiting what I say about myself. We reside in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina or affectionately known to locals as just WNC. We were blessed recently with almost no damage from hurricane Helene. We settled here with our two doggies who have now passed over the rainbow bridge, Max and Murphy. I retired from the US Navy. I began my genealogical journey in 2004 just for fun. I had no specific focus after I finished my family. In 2010, I began posting my research results on Find A Grace. Then in 2015, I had a chance encounter with a memorial page of a US Navy sailor. His story was compelling, so it gave me a laser focus, and I began the quest that consumed me for the next 10 years. During this time, I almost exclusively researched navy MIAs from early in WWII in the South Pacific. I've also done a few other service MIAs as well. I write their stories then post them on Find A Grave (when managers allow me to), and Fold3. The Military Hall of Honor (MHOH) was not continued so thousands of biographies are lost!!. To date, I've compiled over 500 of their stories and counting. It is a privilege to honor their sacrifices.
