I was raised in the village of Attica, NY where I gained a love of history from my mother, a former Curator of Attica Museum where I also served as a Curator. For over 40 years I have been a professional historical and genealogical researcher and have written numerous books and articles on the history of our great nation especially Wyoming County, NY. I have served in various positions in the historical field (too numerous to list) in New York State and the State of Nevada. I have decided that at this point of my life I need to pass onto the future data from my vast collection for generations to come. Find A Grave I found was an excellant site to preserve the data for all to read. As I find data for out of area memorials I will also pass the data along to that memorial too. The purpose of Find A Grave is to record burial locations, not build your family tree. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request.
If you wish to gather your family members, use the "Virtual Cemetery" feature. Many volunteers spend countless hours walking, photographing, and uploading memorials as a genealogical resource for everyone.
Requests for transfers outside the "Family First" policy will not be honored. (Note: "Family First" as defined by Find A Grave in the FAQs are direct relatives within four generations as siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren)
