I was born in NW Oklahoma. My North American roots start from Canada, Virginia, Michigan, Iowa and trickled to Montana, Wyoming, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and west to Arizona and Ca.... Here In Oklahoma, my maternal and paternal great grandparents staked homestead claims in Woodward and Dewey county in the Land Run of 1893. My maternal and paternal grandparents were fortunate to maintain those homesteads as farmers and both kept Dairy's, My Granny Irene Cole operated her Premium Dairy into her late 70's. My Mother and Father were both raised on the farms. And I was blessed to have lived on the Ladd homestead/farm with my grandparents for 4 years. My heritage comes from Cole - Hunter - Whitehead- Ballard - Ladd - Goyen- Pace- Heaivilin - Free -French and Heflin lines. I am always excited to meet and visit with distant family that have the same passion for genealogy and connecting the branches of our tree's through the roots no longer living. I am proud of my roots and most of my memorials are from ancestors or through marriage. The others are early settlers who are in cemeteries in Woodward and Dewey County. I also have many Veteran Monuments found in Oklahoma. I am a proud patriot and I am a member of the Daughter's of Union Veterans of the Civil War as well as The Woman's Relief corps. I do have virtual cemeteries connected to research I do in the name of those organizations for Civil War soldiers and nurses.
