We are rather certain that my husband is related to President McKInley, whose family emigrated to lower York County. There were several brothers. President McKInley's ancestors moved to Ohio eventually. However, other lines stayed in the Hopewell Township/ Chanceford Twp. area and that is where my husband's 2nd great-grandparents were born and died. We think one of Dan's ancestor's was a cousin/ distant cousin to
the President. WE have hit a brick wall with one link that could solve the problem.
I think it is important to link family members all over the world and by linking the final resting place of everyone, this accomplishes that task. It is also helpful to genealogists and may even have some genetic future reference potential..
Most importantly, everyone deserves to be remembered!!
Some of the names I am searching for my side include: Hughes, Yerger, Potteiger, Neidig, Nye, Koup, Dressler, Thompson, Klahr, Lineaweaver, Keener, Rupp, and Killian.
These are mostly located in Berks , Dauphin, and Lebanon Counties, PA
For my husband's side we are researching: McKInley, Stouch, Meisenhelter, Diehl, Amendinger, Lehr, Leib, Orwig,and Cox. they are mostly in York County, PA.
