I realize some people think they're helping people by providing death certificates for everyone they can by posting the document on memorials as a photo, but my personal opinion is that it's in poor taste and completely unnecessary. Ancestry.com and Familysearch.org would be much more appropriate for that type of record. The point is, the records are available to those searching, and a memorial is to tell something of the individual represented. We don't need the gruesome details of how their body gave out in their final moments on earth.

When biographies are more full of "data provided by member #____________," it sadly becomes more about who contributed than the person represented. Imagine if the gravestone was covered more in who made the stone, who set the stone, who put the lettering on the stone than the person it memorialized.

That's my two cents worth... and some of the many reasons I don't maintain memorials.
