I've been doing genealogy since the1990s, including a few years professionally. I started out researching my own lineages and then those of my son. Over the course of years I became adept at finding and utilizing records from many places and in many languages. I know a fair amount about many US states, English, Irish, Scottish, French, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian & Russian Empire records. I can read Spanish, French, German & Swedish records well to reasonably well. I have a rudimentary ability to read Russian (albeit slowly), and can read Hebrew to a degree.

I am particularly interested in Jewish genealogy because I find it fascinating, and since I started cruising cemeteries it became clear to me that what was needed was a comprehensive inventory of all Jewish burials with tombstone pictures, so that the Hebrew inscriptions could be utilized by researchers. I try to do as much research as possible on the backgrounds of those buried in the memorials I manage, linking them with parents, siblings, and children where possible.

I will happily transfer management to verifiable relatives.

I have completed listing the entirety of Oakland's Jewish cemeteries.

My current projects are:

Eternal Home cemetery, and then will be to expand to the rest of the Jewish cemeteries in Colma, adding pictures and bios as I progress. So far, I have photographed even-numbered sections from 36 to 70, and odd-numbered plots 17 through 61.

Eventually I plan to add details to African-American burials in Evergreen Cemetery in Oakland, plus Jewish cemeteries throughout the world as I come to them, with priority given to those closest to San Francisco.

My goal is to record all extant Jewish & African-American tombstones of the San Francisco Bay Area, preserving and illuminating an important legacy in our community.
