I grew up and live in the San Francisco, California, Bay Area.
I would be happy to transfer any memorial I have created or manage, who is not my family, to any family member or friend of that person who is agreeable to responsible management of that person's memorial. Also, a member of my own family may also feel free to ask to take over management of a memorial of our own family. Please, just ask!
In addition, if anyone finds a memorial I created and/ or manage or finds a picture I have posted under my moniker "Bear" and finds anything objectionable that I posted and wants it removed, please contact me with the reasons for their objection. That applies to any memorial page to be deleted in its entirety. I will honor any reasonable request to remove information or "photos", and possibly involve Find A Grave Staff to resolve the issue under certain circumstances. This is a public site and sometimes family of an individual discovering their loved one on this site may object to its publication. I want to respect their request for privacy.
Regarding current transfer of management guidelines. Find a Grave Support staff has provided me with the following statement in August 2023.
"We are always discussing the transfer guidelines and how we can make them
fairer. So, thanks for writing to us. We don't currently plan to change them in
the near future, but we are still discussing the matter.
We do encourage managers to make transfers to family if the managers are not
related at all. But, of course, we don't require such transfers. But we just wanted
you to know that we do encourage transfers in such cases. "
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about what I have posted above. Thank you to all those who have helped me on this site to be a better steward to honor those who have passed on. .........Bear
