Hi, I am Robert. I love history and family research, and I am proud to share my unique background which connects four different parts of the world, as well as my deep local roots:
The "S." in my name is for my Scandinavian family. My maternal grandfather was born in Oslo and christened in the Oslo Cathedral, bringing together strong roots from both Norway (Eiker) and Denmark (Jutland)—the latter being home to my great-grandfather's mother, Ane Marie Andersdatter. My maternal grandmother, Marie, is the source of my deep local connections to North Zealand, with ancestral roots stretching across Fredensborg and the coastline leading up to Elsinore.
My surname, Garabedian, is from my father's side, tracing back to the historic Armenian city of Sis. I also have a tiny bit of Irish DNA (around 1%) from my great-great-great-great-grandfather, John Jack Thomas Shannon, who was born in Ireland around 1770 and passed away in Elsinore, Denmark, in 1831.
