We all make mistakes. If I have uploaded a photo to the wrong memorial, have entered something incorrectly, or created a duplicate memorial in error, do please let me know, politely. To be honest, abusive communication has gotten really old.

If I find memorials with incorrect photos (such as the Eucalyptus Glade in Waikumete Cemetery for scatters pre 2014), I will most definitely ask it be deleted. The same with edit suggestions. Its not a personal attack on you. Accuracy really does matter, for and from, all of us.

We all love taking photos of burial sites for researchers. Its often why a lot of us are here. Please be mindful of 'what' you photograph. We love you for taking the time to find the grave, but we don't love having you in the pic as well - shadows and reflections are an actual thing - we've seen reflections of fluro pink jackets, white cowboy boots with shorts, lit ciggies hanging from one hand, way further down cleavage and up skirts than ever needed....and worse, we've seen reflections of tackle dangling from rugby shorts.

Check.your.photos! At the same time check its in focus and actually legible.

Also be mindful and respectful of the different belief systems that are found in cemeteries. It doesn't matter that its not your belief, its about respecting someone elses. So if you're photographing Jewish or Muslim headstones, do NOT walk over the interred. Berms are double wide to accommodate you needing to walk on it to avoid offending mourners. And definitely don't upload a pic that has you reflected in it, squatting over the burial.

Funerals and mourners take priority over taking a photograph of a burial site.

Commonwealth war graves are different to other veterans.

I will only ever ask for a transfer of a memorial when it is someone who I am directly related to.
