IF CONTACTING ME ABOUT A GRAVE PHOTO:

Please include the *FULL NAME* of the deceased in your message for clarity. If you send me a note simply saying "Thanks for the upload of Uncle John's headstone" or "Could you photograph the unmarked Smith grave" then I probably won't know which grave you are talking about!

When fulfilling your photo request I will add CAPTIONS to my photographs explaining anything unexpected - for example, if your relative is not actually mentioned on the headstone (which is quite common for family plots where several people are interred). Please take a moment to read my photo annotations *before* saying "There's been some mistake" or "You must have photographed the wrong grave."

OTHER REMARKS:

I usually take at least two photos of graves: one closeup of the headstone and one showing the background. For unmarked graves I take a photo clearly showing the setting/context. (I personally find it unhelpful when some volunteers merely upload a closeup of a patch of lawn!)

If the deceased has both an interment page and a separate cenotaph/memorial page, then please do NOT copy my photos from one Findagrave page to the other. This will only create confusion about which headstone is located in which cemetery!
