J. Edward Shiok is a writer and historian based in Alaska. Originally from New England, he holds an MFA from the University of Alaska Anchorage and degrees in World Literature and Philosophy from Castleton University in Vermont. He is completing an M.A. in Military History at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and writing a book about World War II in the Pacific. Much of his research here is related to those efforts.
