I'm originally from eastern PA (Slatington, specifically), lived in Anchorage AK for a while, and now am in Ripon, WI.
I got interested in cemeteries from visiting the Heidleburg Church cemetery near Slatington - a very old cemetery still in use today. The stones go from pretty basic pre-Revolutionary War stones through all the styles up to fancy laser-cut modern ones. It was like walking through history, and since then I am interested to see the history of marker and observe the customs at different places around the country.
