Thousands of important historical records are lost to today's researchers due to the fact that there are those who won't put them up on such sites as FG - unless the marker can be found today; ignoring the fact that tornadoes, theft or removal, vandalism, damage from unrestrained farm animals, desecration due to agricultural development/usage/abuse and other such factors, (including re-internment at a different cemetery) may well have intervened over the years, and the marker the entry relied upon may indeed not be found today. Nevertheless, the value of submitting this memorial as a historical record is relevant and important to those who are tracing their ancestry.

I am a retired U. S. Military Veteran, with 39 years combined in the Army and Reserves. I live in Washington County, Arkansas, about 25 miles from where.I was born in my grandparents farmhouse that had no electricity or running water. I first became interested as a teen while following my mother and grandmother though the family/community cemetery, where 7 generations of my mother;s family is buried, and hearing their stories. A lot of the older graves were unmarked, or only marked with a field stone, and some marked graves are unreadable today, I hope to do my part to save their history.
