Born in Michigan, grew up in Paris, Il. Relocated multiple times as an adult landing eventually in Western New York. My parents were Ray L Taylor, son of Rush Taylor and Rhea Borton and my mother, Barbara Smith, daughter of Broadwell M Smith and Maudie Cutler.

I started my genealogy journey in 2010 on Ancestry looking at my parent's lineage for about a decade but not with any serious intent. During the Pandemic of 2020, I became more engaged and attended many virtual classes. Now I am getting serious about it. I am recruiting DNA testers in our line and visiting the cemeteries to fill in the photo archive. I recently succeeded in being inducted into Daughters of the American Revolution through my patriot, Capt. Andrew Mauney Mann, a german ancestor of my paternal grandmother through her Borton line.
