I joined Find a Grave on 9 Aug 2009 thanks to my cousin, Mike Roberts (1962–2021). I began contributing shortly thereafter, locating family in the Toledo and surrounding area. I was adding the documented grave information to Ancestry. I soon discovered many of my ancestors had already been memorialized on Find a Grave by now Fallen Graver, 'gabbybug'.

Yvonne "Gabbybug" Kujda Browning, (1939–2011), had joined Find a Grave 21 Dec 2000 and contributed 68,654 memorials before her death. I submitted many edits to her, and she always graciously and promptly accepted them or transferred memorials to me.

After her death in Jun 2011, I became frustrated with the inability to edit the memorials she managed. I contacted Find a Grave about my dilemma. Find a Grave solved my problem by transferring about 46,000 of her memorials to me. Problem solved, but a new and unforeseen problem arose. I now had to handle the many daily emails asking for edits to all these memorials. I acquired a job. Find a Grave over time has made this process so much easier, I am eternally grateful!

Today, 1 Feb 2026, I manage 40,001 memorials. I have added 3,728. I have transferred many thousands of memorials and adopted many hundreds from others. I am not among the many much maligned gravers, accused (most falsely) of 'hoarding', 'collecting', or 'number-oriented' contributors. My experience over the last 16 years, 5 months, 23 days with fellow gravers has been excellent with the exceptions counted on less than one hand.
