Since Find A Grave keeps changing their profile name requirements... my name is Christine Thompson Elmore - I have been researching my family lines since 1995 (This is actually my 2nd account here on Find A Grave - somehow, my first one disappered). I started my research in my late 20's and was always the "youngster" at the research libraries. Now, 31+ years later, I am still the youngster at the genealogy department, but now I have the experience of hunting down leads that I didn't have before. My genealogy goal is to update/rewrite the family history book that was written by a distant cousin in 1928. My motivation? He left out my entire branch! It's all good, though - it's been a fun ride!
My main surnames are THOMPSON-ANDERSON-STEBBINS-SHARROCK-SMITH-MILLER-ELMORE-O'HARA-HILL-ESTEP-JOBE with my main focus of SHARROCK.My main project is a compilation of the descendants of James Sharrock (1750-1826), and I am currently working generation by generation to try to find information as far down the lines as my fifth cousins. In addition, I have been working on comparing my family lines to my Ancestry DNA results.
I am also a member of the Akron, Ohio, Chapter of the DAR, as well as the Ohio Genealogical Society, and the Friends of Woodlawn Cemetery (Wadsworth, Ohio). **UPDATE** I am working on a project for Friends of Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth, Ohio, to document the children who are buried in our cemetery. If you have any information to share about any of the children, please feel free to email me at [email protected]
