I also have a special interest in one abandon cemetery located near West Bend, Wisconsin.(old Barton, Young America area), (ABANDON IN THE 1890'S! NO CURRENT BURIALS TAKE PLACE HERE!). It is known as “Old Saint Mary’s Cemetery”. This cemetery is so old that the cemetery that came after it is also called the “Old Saint Mary’s Cemetery”. The original, abandon, cemetery is about ¼ mile west of what once was called Young America, north of Barton and West Bend. The location is just to the north of Moraine Park Technical College on Woodford Road. There is a marker by the road. I have visited this location, and cemetery markers for my ancestors are still there far back in the woods. I have limited information on this cemetery, and there is reference to “some” of the deceased being relocated. After years of searching I still have yet to find any documentation of exactly who was moved. If you have any information on this cemetery I would be very interested in adding that to my notes. If you feel that you have a family member buried there please add their memorial. Just because it has been abandon doesn’t mean that they are no longer there, as I believe is the case with my ancestors.
