Adopted so with the help of DNA testing, I'm here piecing things together and along the way, linking family trees so families can stay connected. Working on genealogy for fifteen years and loving it.

Surnames:

Barnes, Widgeon, Whitehurst, Gornto, Fentress, Petty, Sterling, Bonney, Shipp - Princess Anne county/ Virginia Beach

Boone, Gillikin, Parker, Ballard, Richardson, Stanley, Sanders, Williams, Fodrie, King - Eastern North Carolina

Pet peeve: "memorial hoarders". Those who wish to claim thousands of memorials as 'managers' however put in little to no work connecting families, uploading obituaries, and/or posting the photo for the grave/of the person. Do better.

I may not "manage" several thousand memorials but I spend my time taking grave photos, GPSing sites, uploading photos/obituaries, linking families through obituaries, and tracing family lines on Ancestry through census records. Yes, my suggest edits list is ridiculous but it's done with the best of intentions to preserve information.

Completed 2026 GPS sections of headstones/monuments

Forest Lawn - Norfolk

Center Park North -February

Fir Lawn II - May

Pine Circle - April

Spruce Lawn - April

Tree of Life IV-A -March

Tree of Life IV-B - August

Every stone has a story and as a volunteer, I feel that I should help preserve those stories ❤️
