I've been researching my family history for years, following in my fathers 60+ years of genealogy research. I initially started volunteering for Find a Grave taking headstone photo requests, which I still do. However, I've found more joy as of late in the memorial editing process. (2,300+ so far) As I expand and document my own family tree, I've added memorials, photos, facts, biographies, obituaries, and am working to link as many family relationships as I'm able. It is fulfilling to find a family members memorial with basic information and be able to fill in their facts and details, to breathe life into their story again. I love finding my distant family members memorials, getting them connected, and back in the family fold so to speak. To me Find a Grave is more than an index of final resting places.
