I'm Julia, a retired Funeral Professional with an interest in the art and history of cemeteries and genealogy. My great-grandparents were long-time superintendents-in-residence of Oakland Cemetery, an historic 134 acre memorial garden located near Lake Erie in Sandusky, Ohio.

• I don't copy and paste obituaries, as they are copyrighted, nor will I accept them as a biography edit.

• For the sake of each family's privacy, I use Find A Grave protocol in formatting each bio. Lengthy, detailed obituaries which include living family members and/or potentially sensitive, identifying information will be declined.

• I reserve the right to reformat and/or reject editorial submissions.

• I don't use mass upload methods to create memorial pages. I create each one by hand, researching parents and spouses individually.

• Ignore contributors who rant about, "Getting out there and doing the work!" especially when they have over 100,000 memorials from all over the country. We all know they're doing mass uploads and not walking the cemetery rows.

• I follow the FaG guidelines for transfers -- direct relatives within four generations -- but I will also consider special requests if I am not related to the deceased. Please use Contact Manager on the Memorial to request a transfer and provide your own FindAGrave ID #.

• The photos I take are my gift to the families and may be used without attribution.
