I began editing memorials when I discovered that my own grandmother was linked with the wrong parents and given an incorrect maiden name on her memorial, which was then compounded by errors in Ancestry trees and its Thru Lines feature. The memorial manager kindly taught me how to suggest edits and then transferred the memorial to me to manage.

I enjoy documenting graves so that others can find their family members easily and accurately. I follow rabbit trails using documents to link the correct parents, spouses, and add correct dates. For every memorial I enter or edit, that's a memorial that has a chance of getting into the right hands of family or friends.

Memorial Transfers: Unless I am closely related, I am not one of those people who refuse to transfer in or out of guidelines. Ask and ye shall receive. Use the 'edit' tab and selecting the 'Suggest any other correction or addition' link from the memorial page concerned. Please include your Find--a-Grave volunteer ID number and request each memorial transfer individually.
