Hello! My birth name was Diana C. Darnell and I was born in September/1966. My biological parents were James D. Darnell and Carolyn B. Lester (both deceased). My half brother Dan (birth name: Danny J. Freeman - born in February/1963) were adopted together in 1970. Dan was 7 and I was 3. It's a very long story how I was able to find out the info I needed to search for my birth parents, other birth siblings. Around the age of 10 years old, I wanted to search for my biological info. This was a time way before computers and there weren't many resources available for adoption searches. Once I had access to the internet, google was very helpful and a lot faster than going to the library. I always wanted to know the deeper details about my adoption and learn the background info about my biological parents and other siblings. I had a yearning to search for the details and the important health info I never could tell any doctor or write on a hospital form. In early November 1990, I found out my birth sister Dena had been murdered on 6/1/1990. The same couple who were our last foster home parents had adopted my biological sister Dena as an infant in 1970. On that same day, I found my birth mother Carolyn B. (Lester) McFall and was shown my birth father's obituary. Then on another date, I met my half brother James G. Faurote) (aka Jimmy) and the wife of Dan's birth father - but I don't remember her name. *Added update Friday, 3/22/2019: I have recently found all of their obituaries and have read many newspaper articles online on the website for the Lafayette newspaper. Photo sharing is welcomed, emailing me welcomed, sharing with me any bit of info is welcomed. Any Vietnam Vet (esp Marines that fought at "Pork Chop Hill"- Korean War) that knew my birth father James D. Darnell (aka Jim Darnell) - I'd like any memories or photos you're willing to share. Also - anyone who knew my birth mother Carolyn B. Lester - I'd like to hear any memories or see any photos you'd be willing to share. I was given a very small stack of old photos when I located Carolyn back in November 1990. I only have 1 photo of my birth father and 3 photos of my birth sister.
