For me, this is a hobby and a way to remember my parents; both of them were avid genealogists and family historians. I enjoy finding the stories behind the people and places that built my local community. History is about everyday people, places, and events, so I investigate family lines other than my own if the story goes that direction. For me this is research, and because of that I'm most concerned about accuracy. But I'm also not afraid to make a mistake, or add partial info that might be the missing piece that someone else is looking for.
