I'm Jessica, (a.k.a. HistorianJReece) an amateur genealogist and Board Member at large of the Forsyth County Genealogical Society (since 2025). I've been hooked on genealogy since I was a kid, and I love helping others dig into their family history too. As I am disabled, I primarily work with digital resources and regularly am assisted by local librarians, historians, and volunteers in the locations I am researching.

My family roots are primarily in Georgia and Ashe County, NC. Surnames include: GA - Reece, Ingram, McCurdy, Sweatmon; NC - Oliver, Stamper, Blevins, Mullis

Additionally, I work to update local memorials of those from Davie and Forsyth Counties.. and those belonging to clients I am doing genealogical research for.

Most photos and documents I attach to memorials are found using resources from Local Libraries, Ancestry, Family Search, Google Searches, and Newspapers.com. Credit goes to the awesome librarians, archivists, genealogists, historians, descendants, and authors who made these things accessible. I always try to cite the sources I use, but please reach out for clarification if necessary! Always happy to help!

∼If you'd like to request management of a memorial I've created, please use the "Suggest Edits" or "Contact Manager" features. In line with Find A Grave's guidelines, I prefer to retain management of my own family's memorials.
