I have been a "tombstone tourist" since I was a child, when I would walk with my grandmother and listen to her tell the stories of the people behind the stones in the cemeteries.

When I discovered this site, I signed on to try to help photograph the gravestones needed or requested for cemeteries near me in eastern Rowan and northern Stanly Counties of North Carolina, or anywhere else I happen to be if I see a photo is missing or requested or a memorial has not been made for someone.

Sometimes I will add a photo I've taken if I see that the GPS is missing on the FG app. It might be a duplicate, but it adds the exact location of the grave from the photo on my phone. I also photograph temporary markers or flowers to add GPS so I can go back later to add a permanent memorial photo when it is available.

Edits are welcomed and appreciated, and memorial transfers will gladly be granted to family members upon request. I only ask that you be sure any information you send for edits is accurate as I have had a few edit requests that were not correct. PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED IF I ASK FOR A SOURCE! I am not a fan of death certificates on memorials but really appreciate obituaries. I tend to go by the information on obituaries since the family has to approve them before the funeral home releases them to the public.

Every picture tells a story, and every story should be told.
