I started researching my family tree around 10 years ago. Got off to a slow (and bad) start, but have learned from my mistakes, and continue to do so. I sadly realized a few years ago that I only have one family member left who can recall things from their own childhood, and it reaffirmed my desire and commitment to researching and building our tree.
I do this for my own personal enjoyment and knowledge – not for any kind of clout or notoriety. I want to be able to pass this all down to my kids someday and sincerely hope they value it as much as I do. I've always been a history buff, and have loved seeing how my ancestors were "involved" in that history (like my great-great-great grandfather having fought at Gettysburg!)
I live in Jefferson County, PA, and frequent the Jefferson County History Center, so if you need me to do some research for you, I'm more than happy to. I love searching for and learning new information and enjoy working with new people. If you want to collaborate, please reach out!
