FindAGrave photos have provided me with answers and closure for relationships and more when no other proof was found.

EDITS: I am glad for edits to make things accurate or add info. It is better to have less info than incorrect data but respect others wishes too if possible.


Some edits are fact but inclusion is based on opinion. I hope my memorial excludes my middle name since I do not care for it.


More memorial managers need to remember that they do not "own" the memorial. That being said, they can manage all the aspects they have control over. Managers can not make anyone refrain from posting photos of obits, temporary headstones, etc. on memorials they control.




PHOTOGRAPHS: You are free to use my photographs for non commercial purposes if you include "Photo by Marcy McVicker".


TEMPORARY MARKERS: While some feel we should not photograph temporary markers, sometimes that is all anyone ever has and it also marks GPS when I do this. I have a relatable story but it's long so suffice it to say I am in favor of all photos. After a permanent marker photo is added, you can request my photo of the temp marker be removed if that is your preference and I will gladly oblige.


INSCRIPTIONS: Please include entire inscription if you can. Photos are hard to read sometimes and stones can erode.


WANT TO MANAGE A MEMORIAL? I'm happy to transfer unless my relative. Please be honest and just tell me if you are related or not. I'm not trying to hoard so you do not have to be untruthful if you just want to manage a non related memorial. ABOUT ME: What started as family tree research has evolved into cemetery jaunts. I have had an interest in walking cemeteries since a child but "forgot" until Find A Grave "reminded" me. I am happy to contribute in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and anywhere else my travels take me.
