I'm currently adding information for relatives - parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents - as well as friends. Where I have photos of someone, I'll upload it if none are shown. I add obituaries where I have them. For those I manage, I link them to their families. I hope to give a little meaning which transcends a bit just a grave marker. Feel free to contact me if you have suggestions or you want to connect with a fellow relative. You may copy photos for personal use. If you publish a photo as on a personal Facebook site note the source. No commercial use is allowed without seeking my permission.
I'm, also, adding gravestone photos where no GPS coordinates are given. Take such photos with your phone and you should capture the GPS coordinates. When you upload the photo, FAG's system captures the GPS coordinates. If a FAG memorial site says "Add to Map", then FAG does not yet have the GPS coordinates for this grave. To find a grave with such coordinates, click on "Show Map" on a FAG memorial site. This will open Google Maps on your phone with the location of the grave site. Walk over to it letting your phone tell you where to go. Use FAG's phone program as well. You can add a grave site's GPS coordinates directly or upload a photo of the grave at the grave site. If you have poor phone service or limited data service, just take a gravestone photo and upload the photo later. After adding your photo, you can delete if it is redundant. FAG's system, though, will keep the GPS coordinates you uploaded with the photo. I delete my photos if they are redundant. Occasionally, I leave them if they show the gravestone lettering significantly clearer than the current photo. If by chance, your phone does not capture the coordinates, go into settings and turn on "Location Services." You can see the coordinates in the photo file by opening the file properties. If GPS coordinates exist, a section under properties will show them. The system appears to retain the first coordinates entered. Thus uploading different coordinates from another picture does not alter them. If a mistake is made, one could correct the wrong coordinates manually thru the edit section.
