Avid genealogist since late teens. Proper and thorough documentation is crucial, and not "wishful" , made up, not verified information. Names I descend from include Banks, Loyd/Lloyd, Dorman, Fann, Boren, Parks, Sisson, Scott, Hamilton, Henderson, Addison, Smith, Jones, Colvin, Crumbly, Price, Adkins, Sansing, Kilgore, Bloodworth, Lewis, Parsons, Moore, Jolly, Horne/Horn, Dorough, Neill, Rhodes, Clayton, Branch, Tunstall, Queen, Walker, Crawley and others. I have one French and Indian War ancestor, numerous Revolutionary War ancestors, one Loyalist---Jacob Beck, one Indian Wars ancestor, at least three War of 1812 ancestors, have not yet found any Mexican War 1848-1849 ancestors yet, a few Civil War ancestors mostly Confederate and two Union. No direct ancestors in the 1898 Spanish American War, no direct ancestors in WW I or WW II; collateral yes. Some of the women in my family registered to vote when that became a right in 1919-1920. Had my DNA tested, and I am mostly British/Scottish at 54%, some Welsh, Irish, Cornish, German, Swiss, French and Dutch.
