I deleted my account yet again! I have been on here for quite a bit longer than it says above.
To refuse to post or redact an obituary is absolutely ridiculous. Not only is that information on line, but you are preserving all the relations that someone may need 50 years from now to connect the family members.
Handle each memorial you manage with the respect and thoroughness (picture, full birth/death dates as well as city and state of both events) as you want the person that will someday handle your memorial.
If you are not accepting messages, don't bother to contact me. If you are psychotic (Bunny) or off your meds (Irish) please do not contact me.
Photographers: I appreciate your hard work and dedication. However, if you don't take a picture of the inscription of the name and dates close enough to read, you are wasting your time and there is no point in it. FAG rules state IF there is no headstone then take a picture of the plot.
I don't manage too many memorials. I love to edit new information and connect families. I did over 40K edits in 7 months. Now I am seeking out dormant/abandoned accounts and making sure each memorial gets to user #8 so the next manager can work and update them. It is very time consuming but satisfying when they are picked up by an active member. I have a few members where I even directly transfer their favorite counties. If you have a particular county you would like sent to you as I come across them, let me know. We can all add a little to each memorial. I do all of Pennsylvania as well as Ashtabula and some Trumbull County Ohio only but my family roots are in Schuylkill, Tioga, Jefferson and Elk counties as well as Niagara Falls, NY (although they came to those counties from Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany and Ireland). Erie County is my favorite as that is where I am from.
We should all strive to ensure that every memorial has a FULL birth and death date (year, month, and day) as well as both the place of birth and death ( an actual city and state, not just 'USA'). Connect them to family members. I hate to see a lone memorial. Without this information, the memorial is incomplete.
