Millburn Cemetery

Millburn Cemetery was originally established in 1845 north of Millburn. In 1867, over eighty remains were moved to the present location by the 1st Religious Society of Millburn. A wood plank sidewalk from town was laid in 1881 and again in 1894. The Millburn Cemetery Association was formed in 1869. In 1899, provisions were made to build a brick well house and a two-person brick outhouse, both with slate tile roofs. The elaborate fence was erected in 1912 by the F. P. Smith Company of Chicago for $3,600. In addition to Millburn's early founders, many notable citizens who contributed to the community and country are buried here.
