Through the middle ages,until their union in 1670,three small churchs served the three parishes of Borgue,Kirkandrews and Senwick.Then Kirkandrews and Senwick churchs were allowed to decay,although their burial grounds continue in use.
A parish church existed at Borgue,dedicated to St. Nicholas,
as early as 1150.The present church was erected in 1814.It and the crowded burial grounds are well maintained at the centre of the small village.
