From the West McIntosh Road Flint River Bridge, going east, go 4/5 of a mile and it is on the left. You know you are there if you are at the T-intersection of Crabtree Road and West McIntosh Road. There is a Picket fence but you do not need to hop it in order to gain access. It is about 300 feet from the road and you can see the stones from the street.
The cemetery is on private land and owned by Thomas Washington, III.
Calhoun Cemetery is the family cemetery of the Calhoun Family, and their friends, extended family, and associates. It was probably established in the mid-to-late 19th century, and is still used today. It is known also by "Vaughn Cemetery," and often in death certificates, the place of burial will simply say "Vaughn, Ga" or similar.
Gravesites nearer to the road are newer, however, further into the cemetery (and woods), there are numerous hand-carved concrete stones, concrete slabs/vaults, and depressions in the ground where there was a burial. There are several illegible stones, overgrown stones, and other unmarked graves.
A portion of the cemetery, known as the Dougherty Annex, is the final resting place for the Dougherty Family, who owned land neighboring to the cemetery and buried their three pets, as well as the graves of Paula & Daniel Dougherty, and their son, Paul.
