Funeral Friday morning at 9 in Holy Family Church. Burial In Glenwood Cemetery.
Samuel A. Branagan, 85, formerly of 118 Keyes Ave., died at 6:55 Tuesday evening in the Mercy Hospital, where he had been a patient since April 14. He had been ill the past year.
Mr. Branagan, who had been staying recently with a daughter, Mrs. Henry E. (Korleen) Parker, Little Bow Road, Gouverneur, had been a patient in the hospital on variousr other occasions.
Surviving him, besides Mrs Parker, are three other
daughters; Mrs. Earl W (M Geraldine) Curtis and Mrs. Albert C. (Barbara I.) Hyneman, Watertown, and Mrs. Dorothy chultz, Richmond, Calif.; two sons, Kenneth W. Branagan, Watertown, and Mrs. Keith F. Branagan, Black River; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Clark Hastings, and Mrs. Sadie Cuthbertson, Carthage, and a brother, Frederick D. Branagan, Carthage.
His wife, Mrs. Irene Hennessey Branagan, died here Feb. 1, 1969, at the age of 75.
Mr. Branagan was born Dec, 2, 1887, in the Town of Croghan, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Kesler Branagan.
He amended school in the Carthage area and Came to Watertown in early life A plumber by trade, he was last employed by the New York Air Brake Co. in that capacity until his retirement in 1953.
He married Miss Irene Hennessey of this city, formerly of Carthage, in St. Patrick's Church in October, 1912. Mr. and Mrs. Branagan lived in Carthage from 1914 to 1928 when they returned to Watertown. He was a membrr of the Holy Family Church and the Senior Citizens' association.
The funeral will be Friday morning at 9 in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
