Agnes was the second born child of Joseph Stephan Schnittker of Germany and Anna Aschauer of Nebraska. She can be found on the 1900 census in Cuming County, Nebraska, and 1910 in Kingman, Kansas where her family remained for many years. She was one of at least 14 children.
On 10/2/1918 at the age of 22, she joined the Dominican Sisters of Peace convent in Great Bend Kansas and took the name Sister M. Angelica. She received her habit on 6/1/1919. She professed her first vows on 5/24/1921 and her final vows on 8/17/1925. She passed on 6/10/1964 and is buried in the Resurrections Cemetery of the Dominican Sisters of Peace.
