Marj grew up in Denver, CO. In 1945, she met Clarence, who was stationed at Lowery Field in Denver. They were married on November 24, 1945. On her 23rd birthday they arrived in Norman. She has been an Okie for the past 60 years.
Marj was a loving wife, mother, Nana, aunt, sister and friend. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for family and friends.
She also loved her church. At St. Joseph's, she was a member of the Women's Guild and St. Monica's Guild. She also volunteered in the parish Thrift Shop and helped with Vacation Bible School and as an assistant teacher. She spent many hours making baptismal stoles for the babies and new members, and making curtains for the Religious Education Classes. She also loved dancing with Clarence at the Moose Lodge where she was a member of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed listening to music and watching NASCAR.
A dedicated mother, she is survived by her three children, Tom, Carl and wife Sharon, and Eola (Sis) and husband Ron Slawson. Grandchildren, Stephen Michael Slawson and wife Kristi, Jeffrey Collins Slawson, Thomas Ray Collins and wife Maricella, and Amy Lynn Butikofer and husband Jaron. Great-grandchildren Kaleb Michael Slawson and Davin Ray, Raygin Skylar, and Mashalynn Kylee Butikofer. She is also survived by her sisters, Andrea Abeyta, Mary Maes, Dolores Guiterrez, Sue Duran, Alice Gonzales, Marie Lobato, and brother, Richard Zuniga. A brother-in-law, Raymond Collins, Jr. also survives as well as her special extended family, Clarence Collins, Jr and wife Kaylan, Wallace Collins and wife, Pat, Elzabeth Mills and husband J.D., Kathy Corbett and Susan Hawthorne, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Marj was preceded in death by Clarence, her parents, sisters Julia Tafoya and Gloria Rodriguez and brothers Daniel and Fred Zuniga.
The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Living Center, Norman, the Staff of Sooner Dialysis and the wonderful caretakers of Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care of Marj.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Norman. Burial is at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Norman.
