6971 Pte. James Donnelly. "C" Coy. 2nd Battalion Royal Irish Rifles.
He was the son of Mr Michael and Mary Donnelly of 95 Albert St. Belfast.
He fought in France from 15th Feb 1915 and was captured, unwounded at St. Quentin on 23rd March 1918.
James died due to heart failure at the PoW Hospital in Ohrdruf, Germany.
Red Cross Records indicate his DoB to be 12 April 1894 in Dublin, but there is very good evidence that his actual DoB is as indicated above. see notes
