67, died suddenly October 7, 2017 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the beloved son of the late Henry F. Burney Sr. and the late Nonnie B. Burney. He graduated from John Adams High School in Cleveland and then proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. For over 24 years, he was a devoted employee of St. Anselm College. He was a longtime devoted minister and servant of God at New Hope Baptist Church in Portsmouth, N. H. Royce was preceded in death by sister, Dr. Nona M. Burney, brothers Joel Burney and Jack D. Terry, Sr., and aunt Johnnie Mae Johnson. He remains the beloved brother of Janet, Henry Jr., Grace and Benjamin Burney; beloved uncle of Jonathan Burney, Jack Jr., Beverly, Wayne Terry, Lagena Lewis, beloved cousin of Robbie Faye King and beloved by great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church, 263 Peverly Hill Road, Portsmouth, NH, 03801. Family visitation is from 11am to 12pm, Funeral Service at 12pm. Interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland, Oh. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the in memory of Royce E. Burney at www.cancer.org.
