Morrison – Many friends of Irad Hart Morrison will be shocked to learn of his death in Norfolk, VA., on November 17. Mr. Morrison was struck by a street car and was taken at once to the Sarah Lee Hospital, where he died a few minutes after arrival. His wife and family were in Baltimore and expected to join him on Thanksgiving at Norfolk where they were to make their future home.
The remains were sent to Baltimore where they were interred on November 23.
Mr. Morrison lived in Knoxville, TN for five or six years and while here was connected with several of the clothing jobbing firms. He leaves a wife and seven children, Mrs. Guy Parham of Knoxville, Mr. Irad Morrison Jr of St. Louis, Herbert Morrison of Cincinnati; Johnson, Alonzo and the Misses Martha and Theresa with their mother in Baltimore.

TAILOR KILLED IN NORFOLK
Had Lived Here Short Time And Left Widow And Seven Children
A special dispatch to THE SUN from Norfolk last night says:
"Irad Hart Morrison, a tailor, 1422 West Lexington street, Baltimore, was struck early last night by a rapidly moving trolley car of the Norfolk and Southern railway and died later at the Sarah Leigh Hospital here. Morrison had been working for the Gladstone Tailoring Company and is said to have a family in Baltimore. Not until tonight, when identified by one of his employers, was his name or home known. Morrison stepped in front of the car in an effort to flag it, but the car could not be stopped. The man's chest was crushed."
Mr. Morrison leaves a widow and seven children, and came to this city from Knoxville, Tenn., last July. Not being able to secure work at his trade here, he went to Norfolk.
He had been there only about a month, and his family, who lived at the Lexington street address, were preparing to go to Norfolk to live. The body will be brought to this city.

The location of Irad's burial was unknown to anyone in the family (including all branches and cousins) for many decades. In 2021, I (Alex McGraw) reached out to a Baltimore genealogical society who helped narrow down the possible burial locations and pointed me to this cemetery in particular. I was able to confirm with the cemetery via paperwork they had, that he was indeed buried here. Then, with the help of a generous member of Find A Grave, we discovered his grave was located in an overgrown, neglected, inaccessible part of the cemetery. The cemetery eventually cleared this overgrowth and we saw he had no marker visible. I worked with the cemetery (sending them payment) and they were able to locate the marker completely buried underground and re-set it. Then, since I live 1,000 miles away, the generous Find A Grave member went to the cemetery and took pictures of his headstone and grave. ~ Alex McGraw
