Joseph Franklin Harper, Jr., 89, of Panama City Beach, passed away August 19, 2019 with his family at his side.
Joe was born in Jacksonville, FL, and lived in Panama City Beach since 1995, moving here from Montgomery, AL. He retired after 33 years from the Coca Cola Corporation as Production Manager. Joe served as 1st Lt, US Army, Field Artillery Unit during the Korean War. He was a faithful member of Woodlawn Methodist Church, and enjoyed fishing, bird watching and Florida Gator sports.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Grace Pilkington Harper of Panama City Beach; his children, Grace Kelley of Prattville, AL, Joseph Franklin Harper, III (Linda) of Destin, FL, Alice Gross (Stan) of Hollywood, AL, Mary Hyde (Eddie) of Knoxville, TN, and John Pilkington Harper (Margaret) of Panama City Beach; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Woodlawn Methodist Church in memory of Joseph Franklin Harper, Jr.
