Obituary
The death of John Albert Amirault, son of the late Charles and Philomen Amirault of Doucetteville, Digby Co., occurred on February 6. He was 86 years of age. He had been in failing health for several months as a result of a stroke which left him paralyzed. Until he suffered a stroke, Mr. Amirault had been in good health and active about his home. Left to mourn are his wife, Annie, four sons, Wilbert of Saint John, Delbert of Presque Isle, Me., Emile of Doucetteville, and Patrick of Digby; and six daughters, Doris (Mrs. Patrick Comeau), Halifax, Laura (Mrs. Paul Winchester), of Digby, Ella (Mrs. Howard Burchill), Baccaro, and Pauline (Mrs. Leo Olsen), Clara (Mrs. Ronald Anderson), and Evelyn of Saint John. One brother, Bernard of Fort Fairfield, Me., and one sister, Rose (Mrs. E. Robichaud), Saint John, and 31 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial was in the family plot at Doucetteville and service was performed in Sacred Heart Church. A Solemn High Mass of Requiem was celebrated by parish priest, Rev. Raoul Deveau, assisted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ellie LeBlanc, deacon, and Rev. Delbe Comeau, sub-deacon. Music was under the direction of Mrs. Harley Amirault, organist, and the Holy Cross Church choir of Plympton. Pall bearers were Edward Amero, Joseph Amirault, Fred and Elizee Thibault of Doucetteville.
