"Johnson Crabill, who had been seriously ill with pneumonia at his residence near Dallas Center school, died Saturday, Jan. 20th. Mr. Crabill was born in Whitley County, Indiana, Sept. 3rd, 1854, came to Missouri with his parents when a small boy and had lived in Dallas township ever since.
He was married to Amanda F. Hayes on Nov. 3rd, 1881. Four children were born to this union. Two died young and to survive their father, Mrs. Eva Wolf and Perry Crabill, who makes his home with his mother. Johnson Crabill was a quiet, unassuming man who attended strictly to his own business and had no enemies. He was a good clean man who came from a good family. No one can truthfully say anything amiss of the Crabills.
He was buried at Greenridge last Sunday in the presence of a large crowd of friends and relatives." The Dekalb County Record-Herald (Maysville, Missouri), January 25, 1912
