HUSBAND KILLS HIMSELF ON WIFE'S GRAVE AT SEBASTOPOL
SEBASATOPOL, Oct. 21. -- Brooding over the death of his wife, who passed away at the family home in Freestone a year ago last June, Antone Fisher today went to her grave in Sebastopol Cemetery, placed a .38 caliber revolver to his temple and sent a shot crashing through his head, killing himself almost instantly. The sexton of the graveyard, attracted by the shot, looked up to see a man fall. He ran to his assistance but found that he was beyond aid, the bullet having passed through his head. Coroner Phillips was notified, and the body was removed to the O'Leary Funeral Chapel, where the inquest was held.
The deceased was a native of Australia and age 55 years old. He had no relatives here as far as is known. He had not been in Sebastopol since the funeral of his wife, and no one knew he was in town until the body was found.
At the time his wife died, he seemed very much affected, but did not make an unusual scene, and after the services, left for Freestone.
The couple had been married for many years and were devoted. Since the death of Mrs. Fisher, the husband has been very much alone and has brooded, it is thought, over the death, which led to the tragic act.
