Amos was a partner in the Land Bank of 1740. His name appears frequently in Concord records. His name appears as a "Sergeant" in a company of fifty men who marched from Concord to Boston on 23 Sep 1746, on an alarm on account of an expected attack from the French fleet under the Duke D'Anville. This group of men returned to Concord after being out for ten days. Amos was on the jury in 1737, surveyor of highways in 1738, hog reeve in 1740 and 1744; he was paid for work on highways and bridges in 1738, 1739, 1742, and 1744. At the time of his marriage, he was living in that part of Concord which was included in Lincoln when that town was incorporated in 1754. Amos was 'keeping' school in Concord from 1733-1737; 1741-1745, and in Lincoln in 1754. He served as deacon of the church in Concord (elected 24 Oct 1751) for a time, and also in Lincoln. He was a member of the "Alarm List" in Captain Ebenezer Cutler's Lincoln company, 19 Apr 1757. He moved to Townsend, Massachusetts in May of 1766. The family officially joined the church in Townsend 4 Mar 1770. He served as a selectman of Townsend in 1768-1770, was moderator of the town meeting in 1770. Dea. AMOS HEALD who
died in this town Jan. 4th
1775, in the 66th year of his age,
who first removed to the town of Towns-
end in May 1766, from the Town
of Concord, where he used the
office of a Deacon in the Church
in that Town many year, and untill
his removal, and thereby "purchased
to himself a good degree, and a great
boldness in the faith which is in
Christ Jesus" and to the universall
of his brethern in that church.

Sweet is the savor of their names
And soft their sleeping bed.
Far from this world of toil and strife
They're present with the Lord
And labors of their mortal life
End in a large reward
