Mary V Slagle, 68, of Bolivar died at 5:28 PM Thursday, May 14, 1992, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, after a brief illness.
She was born in Polk County and had been a lifelong resident of Bolivar and Polk County. She was a member of the Lindley Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was active in the Foster Grandparents program in the bolivar school system.
Survivors include two daughters, Benneta Steinmark of Bolivar and Pat Cole of Bolivar; five sisters Ruby Kirkman, Maxine Lanseth, Jackie Steward, and Jane Roweton, all of Kansas City, and Dorothy Newman of Kansas City, Kan.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were at 4 PM, Sunday, May 17, at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial was in the Breshears Cemetery in northeast Polk County. Casketbearers were Walter Moore, reg Wood, Bud Trammell, David Melton, Curtis Steinmark, and Jim Hewlett.
