"Several days ago there assembled at the grave of Benjamin Cornelius, a Buchanan County pioneer, four of his direct descendants of the same name. They were his son, eighty years old; his grandson, fifty-nine, his great-grandson, thirty, and his great-great-grandson, two years old.
The first Benjamin Cornelius was born in 1793, and he settled in Buchanan County in 1836. He died in 1860 and was buried in what is now the Blakely Cemetery, eight miles east of St Joseph on the Easton road.
