MIFFLINTOWN - Stanley E. Shadel, 66, of RR1, Mifflintown, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Lewistown Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Born June 9, 1942, near McAlisterville, he was a son of the late Ralph H. and Pearl E. (Clotfelter) Shadel. His wife, Janice (Deamer) Shadel, whom he married May 6, 1961, survives.
Also surviving are: two children, Deb Lynch and husband, Brett, of RR4, Mifflintown and Troy Shadel Sr. and wife, Michelle, of Beaver Springs; one brother, Wayne R. Shadel, of Thompsontown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He worked on construction as a concrete technician until he retired on disability.
He was a life member of the NRA and at one time was the leader of Boy Scout Troop 60.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Morgan.
His service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Ronald Lynch officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
