Ephraim Banks was a native of Lost Creek Valley (now Juniata County); was born January 17, 1791. He came to Lewistown in 1817, and was appointed prothonotary of Mifflin County in 1818 by Governor Freedley. In 1866 he was elected associate judge of Mifflin County, which position he held at the time of his death, in January, 1871.
